Diamondback Tactical 4-16x44 FFP Riflescope - EBR-2C (MOA) (DBK-10026)

Try not to spit out your coffee as you check the price of the Diamondback Tactical FFP after reading about its impressive performance and features. The first focal plane reticle, a feature ordinarily reserved for 4-figure-priced optics, allows shooters to use the information-packed EBR-2C reticles for ranging, holdovers or windage corrections on any magnification. Housed inside its durable, one-piece aluminum tube is a 4x optical system delivering excellent edge-to-edge clarity and sharp resolution. Exposed elevation and windage turrets are low profile enough to stay out of the way in packing situations, but offer the quickness, ease and precision of dialing accurate shots at distance. A side adjustable parallax gives shooters peace of mind by removing parallax error from the equation from 10 yards to infinity.

Dual use for Shooting Tactical / Hunting.

scope

EBR-2C MOA Reticle

  • Designed to maximize long-distance shooting and ranging abilities, the EBR-2C MOA reticle can be used to effectively determine ranges, holdovers, windage corrections and moving target leads. The ultra-precise laser-etched glass reticle ensures the MOA specifications are kept to the tightest tolerances possible. The fine center crosshair subtensions on the EBR-2C MOA reticle were carefully chosen to provide the optimum balance of precision aiming and low light visibility.
  • First focal plane (FFP) reticles are located near the windage and elevation turrets in front of the image-erecting and magnifying lenses. This style of reticle will visually grow and shrink as you change the magnification. The main advantage of a first focal plane reticle is that the reticle subtensions used for ranging, holdover, and wind drift correction are consistent at all magnifications.

Product Description

The Diamondback Tactical is a long-range wolf in sheep’s clothing. Rather than cramming features in at the expense of turret performance and optical quality, the Diamondback Tactical dials it back, putting the focus where it counts. Exposed turrets bring tracking performance previously unheard of at this price point, while its optical system delivers sharp image quality even at extended range. Its relatively simple design places you firmly in the driver’s seat with the potential to take on that 1, 000 yard mark and beyond, at a price that’s easy to justify for new shooters, your training rifle, as well as experienced shooters looking for a back-to-basics optic on their fun gun.

Excellent for this price point.
4 Stars
Excellent for this price point.
First the bad....well kind of bad. The eye relief is very critical, got to make sure you get your eye positioned JUST RIGHT! I had a Vortex Viper that the eye-box was very forgiving, but it cost three times more than this one.Under the turret, the gasket is very small and flimsy, you must be very careful that you do not damage it when you remove the turret to set it back to the "0" mark after you sighted it in.Now the good....it is a very usable reticle and had pretty danged clear for a $350 optic, it tracked well, and the clicks were pretty tactile and pretty auditable. Is it a top of the line OMG! kind of scope...no. But if you are on a budget like most of us, this is an excellent scope for basic needs.Just remember, you are probably not on the US Olympic Shooting Team, and chances are you're not a sniper......so you don't need all the stuff that a $1000 scope has, versus this usable glass.
