Holds up to 12 gauge recoil!

Holds up to 12 gauge recoil!
I really like this sight. I'd never bought a micro red/green dot like this before so I wasn't sure if the field of view would be too small or if it would survive on my Mossberg 500 12 gauge pump but I was pleasantly surprised by it. I put about a 100 rounds through it today, buckshot and heavy field loads and it held up. I did have to tighten the screw that secures it to the rail but a drop of blue loctite will fix that. The controls are simple and the branding is discrete which I like. No gigantic logos or anything. There's a single button on the front of the sight that you press to turn on and cycle through the intensity settings and you hold it to turn it off. You do need to remove the sight to change the battery though so take that for what it's worth. I can't comment on the battery life because I've only had it for a few weeks now. In general, it's got clear glass without a blue or green tint that a lot of budget sights have and holds up to some pretty heavy recoil. Eye relief is unlimited so you don't have to put it in any particular spot but I moved it all the way to the rear of the rail and I prefer that. I felt like I had an easier time focusing on the dot with it mounted there than I did with it all the way forward. Also, it's really tiny so it doesn't get in the way of reaching over the top of the gun to grab shells and reload. If you want to try a micro dot sight but don't want to spend $200 or more on a Vortex, Burris or Trijicon, give this a shot. I'll update as I put more rounds through it but after today's range trip, I love it!Some more information. It's small but still offers a good field of view; the lens is 1" wide and at its highest point, about 3/4" high. Compared to a micro red dot or a larger optic like a Vortex Spitfire that will have between a 1" and 1 1/4" wide (circular obviously) lens. Consider that the addition of my Spitfire on my AR adds nearly a pound to the gun and this adds MAYBE 5 ounces. I didn't weigh it but I know it weighs less than the TLR-1HL I have on my Mossberg.Been to the range 3 times now, still works. Slugs, buckshot, target loads.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seems very legit!
Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2018
Initial impression is good. Seems to be well made and structurally sound. Taking it shooting soon after mounting and I'll leave a review after I find it if it stands up and holds a zero.
Few features not mentioned.
It remembered the last brightness setting when you turn it on and off. The dot can be very VERY bright.
No clicks for adjustment but it has a wheel for gauging.
Heighth without mount is just under one inch on my calipers about .965 and width is 1.005
Also it appears to have minimal to no parallax as described. Unit seems to be exactly as described!
Very small but seemingly very well made.
So far 5 stars!
Update 1
Discovered unit WILL auto shutoff after about an hour. Pros being the battery will probably last a long time.
Cons. If it's going on a defensive weapon to can't rely on it unless you train to turn it on during or before use
